Baptism

Whenever we read in the New Testament about people coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ, their next step is water baptism.

Water baptism unites us with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It symbolizes death to our old way of life and is a sign of our new life in Christ. Water baptism gives the believer an opportunity to publicly declare their faith and allegiance to Jesus Christ.

The Bible is clear that it is not necessary for salvation, but it isn’t optional either. In fact, Jesus commands us to be baptized (Matt 28:18-20).
